card patterns sketch #12

Whoa I just realized it's been over a week since I posted!! I have been so busy I can hardly think!! I was blessed with a new grandson last week and then this week my 9 month old granddaughter had to be hospitalized... it was so scary!! Any way I had a couple of hours to myself and I made this card for the card patterns sketch #12. I got a bunch of new goodies last week and used them in this card. the patterned paper is by cosmo cricket and that awesome flower stamp is from basic grey. They have these new stamps that are under two bucks and are so awesome. I got mine at croppin' paradise... they have great pricing and super fast shipping!! I stamped the flower three times in ripe avocado ink and then on a scrap I stamped it three more times in berry sorbet and cut the flower head out. I mounted them with dimensional over the avocado image then added a pearl in the middle. I used my new fiskars apron lace punch (I love this punch!!) on a piece of berry sorbet paper and added it under the stamped piece. The sentiment is from papertrey ink's heartfelt blessings set stamped in berry sorbet ink and die cut with a spellbinders label die. Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

card patterns sketch #11 guest designer

I am so honored to be picked for the card patterns guest designer for this week. I didn't find out until Wednesday so I had just a couple of days to do the sketch and it just happened to be a busy week for me!! So my card was made from the left overs I had on my desk from the last few cards. I told you it would have pink~!! I loved this sketch and just wished I had more time to play with it!! It has sooo many possibilities. I always need birthday cards as I send one to every woman in our church to wish them a great day. It is a BIG feat as we have a big church but I enjoy doing it and totally making their day! That is why my cards tend to always be on the feminine side. I really need to get some manly mojo goin' tho!! Stamps are from hero arts and papertreyink. I used my brand new die from spellbinders that I just got... I love this die and can totally see myself using it ALOT!! I die cut the main image and another one of the same size from a piece of spring moss bitty dots paper and just offset it a bit to mat. I stamped the swirl image from pti's beyond basic borders in vintage cream ink randomly on the kraft cardstock for a background. Stamped the sentiment from pti's damask designs in true black. The butterfly is from hero arts, stamped with true black on a scrap of that awesome house of 3 paper that I love and cut out. Adhere with dimensional, add a few pearls and viola!! a birthday card in no time!! I'm off to check the mail and see if I got any new stamps yet.. I ordered some new heroarts, some new papertrey ink and some from my cute stamps... I get so excited when my packages come... like when I was a kid at christmas!!!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

cps111

Short post today to post my take on the cps sketch111. I went for simplicity in this sketch. All items are papertrey ink. I love the melon berry color but haven't really played with it until today. It is beautiful!! I ran the vintage cream card thru my cuttlebug to give the card pattern. The rest is done with melon berry ink. The stamp set is called text box and the little scroll thing is from the recipe box label mini set. Need to go...thanks for looking and have a great day!!

card patterns sketch #10

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay in posts...I had sick grand babies and my man wasn't feeling too good and I am the one to take care of everyone. I tell ya a woman's work is never done! (har har!) Here is my take on the card patterns sketch #10. I have about four sketches goin' at once just trying to get caught up and then I found out yesterday that I am the guest designer for next week on the card patterns blog!! Yikes!! only two days to make a card... well you can be sure that it will have pink (wink) as that IS my favorite color (as you can tell by now!!) . I really need to do more color challenges as that really gets me out of my comfort zone!! On to my card...I used my precious papertrey ink stamps and sassifrass lass paper on top of the kraft cardstock. I have really been hooked on the kraft cardstock lately. I bought it from papertrey ink on a whim and I really am lovin' it!! The stamp sets I used are beyond basic borders and honey bees (my new favorite!!) I stamped the little flowers in berry sorbet on vintage cream cardstock, cut them out and adhered with dimensionals over the swirly image from the beyond borders set. I stamped the bee on vinyage cream with adirondak oregano ink (stamped off once), cut it out, put a dab or two of diamond stickles on the bee, and then adhered with a dimensional. For the side I stamped the border stamp in vintage cream ink and I just happened to have some buttons that match the patterned paper. The sentiment is from the honey bees set and stamped in berry sorbet. Got to get back to work....enjoy and have a great day!!

cps110

Here is my sub for the cps sketch #110... and it's another pink & green card!! Sorry about that but I am feeling springy and I have been just gravitating to these colors lately. I have been playing around with my watercolor crayons so thought I would try them out on my acrylic stamps..I had not used them on acrylics before but they worked nicely. I just color right on the stamps and then spritz lightly with water. The main flower image is from hero arts called asian elements. I love the owl that comes with this set. I actually stamped over the image with papertrey ink's journaling lines in aqua mist but it doesn't show in the picture . The dots of vintage cream cardstock are a little strange, not someting I would normally do.. but I dropped one on my project and I thought "what the hey!!" so I glue them down!! A little whimsy goin' on there. The butterfly is another one of those from k&company. I need to go tend to my baby granddaughter who is so sick... I hate it when the babies get sick because they are so little... anyway thanks for looking and have a great day!!

card patterns sketch #9

Short posting today......Here is my card for the card patterns sketch #9. It really didn't come out the way I had it envisioned in my head but I still like it. I am totally into green & pink the last few days...must be a spring thing! The image of the children is from paper angel and is one of my very favorite images. It would be nice if someone (pti??) did a children's silhouette type stamp set...I would buy it in a heart beat!! I gotta go...Hope you have a great day!!!

house of 3 meets papertrey ink in a cps 109 sketch

I just have a simple card today for the cps sketch. As you all can tell I love papertrey ink... well I also love heidi swapp stuff , so when she started house of 3 with rhonna and janet I checked it out. I love their blog banners and it was the banners that got me into wanting to start a blog...I know weird huh!! I have since downloaded quite a few banners and put a cute little blinkie on my blog.. easy since it is already made. I have never been into the digital craze because ,#1 I am a stamper at heart first and foremost, #2 I can't afford a large format printer and #3 I thought it would be way to hard and not creative enough for me. So I zip on over to hof3 on april first and they are giving away an april bundle for free!! I was like "hey who am I to pass up a freebie!!' So I downloaded it (check out my new banner) and started to play a little in my paint program. Then I decided to buy and download the easter papers and brushes.. (you know one thing leads to another!!) at first I thought ..well I don't have a large format printer so this is not going to work. I decide to print out just one sheet to see how it looks and I print it as 3 1/2x5 photos (perfect size for cards) and oh my goodness!!! these are beautiful!! So all day yesterday I played around with the paint program. I wish my computer geek son lived closer so that I could get 1 on 1 training because I know NOTHING!! This is a very simple card... I changed one of the background papers to pink but left a tad of the yellow showing. The yellow is a perfect match to summer sunrise from pti. I stamped the circle from tags for spring in summer sunrise and the sentiment in hibiscus. The dotted border is also stamped in summer sunrise and them layered on hibiscus ribbon. I added a couple of rinestones to the circle just to give it a little something. I can totally see this as a baby card. Anyway off to work on another sketch and play with my "paint"!! Have a great day and thanks for looking!!
