cps 134

Happy Wednesday!!!! Only two more days until the weekend!! This card for the cps sketch #134 just kind of fell together.... these are all things I already had on my desk from another project and I when started playing around I realized it could pass for the sketch!!! I love it when that happens!! Isn't this just the sweetest baby girl card you have ever seen?? Okay I am a little biased but I totally fell in love with this card!! The flower stamp is from hero arts that I have had for awhile but didn't feel the need to use it until a few weeks ago Dawn made a card with this flower. I stamped a bunch in different colors and cut them out to use for later. The swirls I cut out on my cricut using the storybook cartridge. I used the damask cuttlebug folder for the background and a scalloped square nestie for the mat. I will post the deets at the bottom.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

I went cosmo with card patterns #33

I got this mini cosmo cricket early bird paper a couple of weeks ago and have been dying to use it. When I saw the card patterns sketch for this week I immediately thought of my vintage picnic set and the cosmo paper. Don't they just match perfect!?! I have been a little obsessed with square cards lately and the sketch just fed my obsession. This particular one messures 4.25 square and is just the cutest thing you ever saw!! I also tried the new rock candy distress stickles by ranger on my flowers but I felt that it washed the color out just a tad. The daisies were definitely more yellow before I tried the rock candy. I used the stickles on another project with just some ink and it seemed to do fine... I will post the details below to save time.... I have been working on a new storage for my inks & such... it seems like every couple of months I want to reorganize... it totally drives my man crazy.. I mean he is one of those types that never changes any thing around.. everything is always the same.. I think with me I just like to "touch" my stuff and then I decide it would be better in a different place!!!?? My daughter has inherited my moving things around syndrome... every two weeks..and I kid you not... she moves her WHOLE house around... I mean not just the living room but the bedrooms and the dishes and the girls' room ... If it can move she moves it!!! oh my word... I thought I was bad!!!!! Well kids I'm off..........

raspberry suite rejected... by me!!

Hey! Just thought I'd share a card that I made for Dawn's raspberry suite challenge #16 that I did not post. This was the first card I made and I really couldn't decide if I liked it or not enough for the challenge. is that crazy or what? So I made another one and posted it and it made the spotlight!!! You just never know!! I was totally not expecting it!! If you have not tried one of Dawn's challenges I encourage you to do it. They really help me think outside the box with colors I may not normally use. Just play to have fun! I have been totally shocked every time that Dawn has picked me because well I'm just little ole me and there are sooo many talented people out there in blog land!!

On to the card..... I printed the background paper from a kit I got at house of 3 around easter time.. I think it is from the easter papers kit. The yellow matches summer sunrise exactly!! I used my big scallop punch to make a border along the bottom and them punch one in kraft and one in dark chocolate to make a layered border. I stamped the image from the 2009 autumn tags set from papertrey ink in summer sunrise, cut out with a circle nestie and matted it with a dark chocolate circle. The ribbon is dark chocolate satin. I added a few pearls along the edge of the circle and three pearl flowers from jenni bowlin. I can't remember where I got mine but they are one of my favorites!!

I'm outta here and thanks to all of you who comment and leave such encouraging words!!!

Unscripted sketches #23 gets flipped with fall

Hi All!! I have another unscripted sketch this week. I decided to do a fall card since I can smell fall in the air. Yippee!! Fall is my favorite season..... I am really likin' these sketches and this one I flipped. Mainly because I wanted to use a journaling block stamp that I have had for a couple of years now from basic grey. I stamped it in dark chocolate and cut it out. I then stamped the wreath from the autumn abundance set from papertrey ink in summer sunrise, the happy fall in ripe avocado, and the swirl in really rust. I layered this onto a scrap piece of patterned paper from my minds eye. I stamped the pumpkins in summer sunrise then did the rock n roll in pumpkin pie and really rust, then cut out and adhered with a dimensional. Everything else is mounted on a really rust card that I stamped very lightly with one of the text stamps from the text style set in dark chocolate ink. Add some ribbon and buttons and another sketch completed!! Yea!!
I'm off to look at my new order of hero arts stamps!! I bought a couple of new background stamps that I have been dying for!!! I LOVE background stamps!!! I feel like I have been in shopping mode the last couple of weeks.... sheesh... between new punches, stamps & paper I'm good to go for the holiday season. Oh well it keeps me busy and out of trouble...ummm sort of!!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

another monday

Hi all! I have just a random card to share today. I have been wanting to use the cupcake set from papertrey ink for a couple of weeks now and this weekend it finally saw ink!! I had a certain person in mind when I made this card. She loves black with lots of color, so I decided to use berry sorbet and a scrap of basic grey paper that I had on hand. I also used my ocean tides satin ribbon. Wow I love this color!! I dont know why I haven't used it yet. Very pretty!! The colors all go together nicely without being over powering. I stamped the bottom cup in berry sorbet and the top frosting in sweet blush with a glitter coating. I cut out the black frame on my cricut from the storybook cartridge. It is my favorite cartridge so far. I also used my new slim line punch for the border. i ordered a couple new punches and I can't hardly wait until they get here. I also ordered some of the new release stuff from papertrey ink tonight. What awesome stuff!! I love pti!! Well I'm off for the night!!

Thanks for looking!!

card patterns sketch #31

Wow I can't believe it's Friday already!!! this week just flew by!! I was unplugged most of the week and I finally had time today to get my card up for the card patterns sketch #31. I haven't played for a couple of weeks and told myself this week I was going to get with it!! I decided to do a fall card this time. All products are papertrey ink except for the swirl.... I did that with my cricut and the accent essentials cartridge. I have been really getting into my cricut lately... I usually just use it for the bulletin boards at church but I am really getting into all the little accents you can make with the thing!! Amazing!! I am keeping this short today as I need to get to work and am short on time..... Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

unscripted sketches#22

Hi there!! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I was in cleaning mode and I accomplished alot the last few days. I even made a few cards, one of which is this one for the unscripted sketch #22. I just stumbled upon this sketch challenge and decided to participate. I really like the sketches and all the possibilities. I used my new cosmo cricket early bird mini deck paper that I got at ellens store the other day. I love these mini decks. If you love cosmo cricket you will love these..... the same paper just scaled down to 6x6...perfect for us card makers!!! I used my favorite everyday button bits from papertrey and used buttons that I had that matched the papers. I stamped the sentiment on vintage cream in dark chocolate ink and then cut each word out and antiqued the edges with the lightest colors of the distress duo then matted the words on an aqua mist strip which I then antiqued. I stamped the kind part right on the image and adhered the rest of the sentence in front so that it flowed together. The other strip in the sketch I used dark chocolate satin ribbon. I got the card all done and was putting away my ink and I had a tad bit on my finger and I touched the card without knowing!!! So guess what I had this little tiny ink mark right on the top of the image!! I was so perturbed!! I mean it's one thing if you are just starting a card but it is completely another when you are finished!! So what is a girl supposed to do???? I got out my favorite martha stewart punch and punched me some brown butterflies and stuck one over the smidgen of a smudge. One didn't look right so I added two more to even it all out and saved the card!! Whew!! Any one else have that happen.... you get a card done or almost done and somehow you screw it up???? I hope I am not the only one!!
Well I'm off .......... Thanks for looking and have a great day!!!

Raspberry Suite # 16

Wow I can't believe it is Thursday already!! What in the world happened to this week? Last I checked in I was going to the big city to go shopping and here it is almost week later!! Well I do have good excuses.... shopping, surprise birthday party for my mom and making sun dried tomatoes have been at the top of my list. I did manage to find a few minutes a couple days ago to once again play with Dawn's Raspberry suite color challenge. How I look forward to these color challenges..... they really make me think outside of the box. So on to my card...... I used hero arts four leaf grid stamped with summer sunrise for the background. I used a tag stamp from the tags for spring from papertrey ink and also stamped it in summer sunrise. I stamped the sentiment from the autumn abundance set in dark chocolate and cut out with a circle nesties. I used my new (to me) labels 3 to cut out a piece in dark chocolate and one in kraft. I layered these to form a sort of medallion. The summer sunrise label behind is one of the new spellbinder labels that I got the other day from ellens store. Just adds a bit of elegance to the project. I punched my border and tied a piece of summer sunrise satin ribbon around, tied in a knot and then added a vintage cream button tied with rustic cream twine. I added a few pearls here and there to give it a little omph and there ya go!! Raspberry suite #16 done!! I actually did another card but don't know if I will have time to post so may save it for another day. I'm off to peel some more tomatoes and try and get a few sketches done. Thanks for looking and have a great day!!!
