get sketchy #36

It Friday and you know what that means....... it's Get Sketchy time!!  This week we have The cutting Cafe and Glue dots.

The winner of this week's sketch will be getting a Glue Dots Prize Package and three sets of images from the Cutting Cafe.
Here is this weeks sketch..........................

Here's what I came up with....................................

I am making this short & sweet today....... The images are from the Cutting Cafe and the patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Green at Heart line. I made a little ribbon border from the silk ribbon from papertrey ink and added a couple of buttons tied with twine. Simple & sweet!

Don't forget today is the last day to vote over on the Get Sketchy blog for your favorite designer contest using creative charms products. Thanks so much for all of you who voted for my cards... I am truly grateful!

papertrey ink blog hop

I decided at the last minute that I had a tad bit of time to participate in the blog hop this month. This month theme was tissue paper and what to do with it. Well I went original (hee hee) and did a tissue paper flower. Not just any flower but the gorgeous ones Betsy showed us how to do on her blog. I used my spellbinders blossom dies to make the petals bigger. I didn't use any other layers on this card as I wanted to keep the flower the focus. The card base is aqua mist with the leaves stamped in aqua mist.
I need to get this posted so I'm off for now...........

card patterns #60

Hi again!! I wanted to post my card I did for this weeks card patterns sketch. This and my Get Sketchy card are the only cards I managed to make this week. I hurt my eye last week and it took me a few days to be able to see again.
So on to my card..................

I LOVE the new October Afternoon Thrift shop papers and stickers!! I had to use them for this sketch. This card is totally different for me........ only the sentiment is stamped!! I know shocker!! The rest are all stickers from the die cut sticker sheet. I also used some beautiful ribbon I bought from this etsy shop.  The pins are from maya road.
I'm off to enjoy the rest of this beautiful day!!
and open my just arrived Papertrey ink box :)

get sketchy #35

Hi all!! It's Friday and ya all know what that means......... it's Get Sketchy time!!! Our sponsor this week is Hot of The Press (HOTP) and this weeks winner will win a nice prize package of goodies.
Here is this weeks sketch..............................

And here is my take..........................................

I went for a soft vintage feel here. I used paper from HOTP for my background and my butterflies. I cut my half circle out after I used a plate to trace a half circle.... I know primitive but I gave my coluzzle to a friend thinking I would never use it again:) The scallops are actually 3/4" punched circles and then adhered under the half circle. I used Paper trey ink's background basics text style II to stamp a slight background on my half circle. The tag that I stamped the sentiment on is from one of the tag sheets from HOTP. I just cut it out and stamped my sentiment.
That's it for now.............
Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

get sketchy #34

It's Friday and time for another Get Sketchy sketch. The sponsor for this week is Wags & Whiskers rubber stamps. So here is this weeks sketch...........................

And here is my take.......................................

I used the best friends forever digi stamp from wags & whiskers. I printed her first on stampers select white from Paper trey ink and then a second time on a piece of patterned paper from October Afternoon so I could paper piece her dress. I colored the rest of her and her bear with copics. I cut out a couple of hearts and used an embossing folder from Sizzix to give them texture. The aqua gingham paper is from October Afternoon. The sentiment is from Paper trey ink's Spiral Bouquet stamp set.

I will come back later and add the links..... I injured my eye today and am having a hard time seeing!!:)

card patterns #59

Hi all! Here is this weeks sketch over at the card patterns blog.............

And here is my take...................................

I finally got around to using my new delightful dahlia set from paper trey ink. I love this set and have been exploring the possibilities. The font is very elegant and I love the smaller size. I used the new botanical background set to make the background on the spring moss card stock and the little sheet music stamp that you can barely see is from the October Afternoon Thrift shop stamp set. I die cut the dahlia and stamped the image and colored with my copics. The leaves I die cut out of the spring moss dot paper from the pretty pastels pack. The patterned paper is from October Afternoon. Have I told you how much I love both October Afternoon's new releases "Thrift shop" & "Fly a Kite"? L.O.V.E. them!!! I think I pretty much bought stock with how much I  purchased :)  I also used the new giga guidlines impression plate from paper trey ink on the oval. I wasn't too sure about the impression plates as I'm a folder type of girl but I do love the pattern and the impression is nice.

I'm off to clean up my mess..... It's amazing the mess I make when I make a card.... Just one card and it looks like a tornado went thru!!!

moxie fab tuesday trigger

Hi all! Just wanted to pop in to share my card for this weeks Moxie Fab Tuesday trigger. The inspiration is this card from Heidi Van Larr...........................................

This card is featured in the new go to sketches special publication from paper crafts. If you don't have this issue yet you need to get it. So many awesome sketches and inspiration. I have not been able to put mine down.
Here is my take.........................................

I kept to the colors mostly and the back ground I used one of Paper trey ink's new impression plate to mimic the plaid. I also used some older October Afternoon die cuts from the "Cherry Hill" line. That was my favorite line until I received my new "Go fly a kite" this week.... yummy!!

There you have it friends ....another challenge done!!!

Wonderfully Whimsical Challenge

I went on over to Becky Oehlers blog to check out the first night of the peaks for papertry ink's new release and Becky had issued a challenge.... Make a card with wonderfully whimsical in the next 24 hrs and link it up. Well who am I to pass on a challenge especially when it comes to wonderfully whimsical. I was not going to show any more wonderfully whimsical cards but Becky is makin' me do it!!! Since I only had about 45 minutes to make a card because I have other commitments I used what I already had on my desk from playing with this set. I used basic grey's green at heart paper on this one also.

I totally love this set as most of you know from previous posts. So many possibilities.... I only wish it had a sun and some clouds (hint, hint Becky):)

Later friends,

Lisa

get sketchy #33

Hey all it's Friday and time for another Get Sketchy card. The sponsor for the week is sweet lab kits.

This is the sketch for this week................

And this is my take...................................

I went for a clean graphic look with this one. Not my usual style but sometimes it is good to get out of the box. I started with a white card base and used a polka dot embossing folder from sizzix. I cut different size circle using spellbinders dies but you could easily use punches or even hand cut your circles. I used papers from paper trey ink and basic grey Kioshi line for my circles. The hello panel is punched from a stampin up punch and then I layered the hello circle over it and added a few rhinestones. Easy!!

Well enjoy your weekend...... I know I sure am. I am totally wanting some sun!!

Have a great day!!

shabby tea room #4

Time for another Shabby tea room challenge. It's #4 and the above photo is the inspiration. White and cream... as in together.... what???? The actual challenge is to use white or cream with one other subtle color. But I challenged myself to use both white and cream to see what I came up with.  And this is what happened.....

The background patterned paper is from basic grey's nook & pantry line and it was screaming at me to use for this challenge. Add some lace, a flower with a pink button in the middle, some pearls, hand cut leaves from white felt, a nice sentiment and you have said challenge done!! Quite a bit of a change from all the color I used on the last couple of cards.

I'm off......

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

cps 161

Well I just simply could not put down this set from paper trey ink called wonderfully whimsical designed by Becky Oehlers. I adore this set tons! So many possibilities and as I was playing with it it occurred to me that I really think Becky needs to make a companion set :) You know with like clouds and a sun and a swing and maybe a cute little mailbox ....... I could go on and on :) So as I was putting this card together I thought it went with this weeks card positionings systems sketch ............

I flipped mine though..............

Aren't these the cutest images or what????  I could play with this set all the day long and not get tired of it. I paper pieced the roof and colored the house with my copics. I cut out a couple of clouds from white felt and I stamped the hill onto green felt that is the exact color of spring moss card stock. It is my favorite so far. I got it from this etsy shop.

well friends I'm off for now..........

card patterns #58

Hi all! I can't believe it is Tuesday already! Wow the last few days have gone by in a blur. I just got my new computer yesterday so have been busy getting it all set up the way I like it. I am still having a bit of trouble with the color so hopefully my pics don't look too bad on your end.
So here is this weeks card patterns sketch................

And here is my take....................................

I had to play with this new set from paper trey ink called wonderfully whimsical. I love this set! The images are very small but I really like the whimsy of it! The houses and trees in this set are adorable! I colored the house with my copics and stamped the hill image on some spring moss felt that I ordered from felt on the fly. She has the most amazing colors of 100 % wool felt and it is really nice felt. The white felt that I cut the clouds from is from paper trey ink. I used a sentiment from the on my couch set from paper trey ink. I sponged aqua mist ink with my daubers to make the sky. The patterned papers are from basic grey's new green at heart papers.

Well I'm off friends.......

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

shabby tea room #3

Just a quicky post to share the card I made for the shabby tea room challenge #3. Here is the inspiration..........

And here is what I came up with..............................

This didn't turn out exactly like had envisioned it would but I still like it. Used some scraps from Paper trey ink, October Afternoon and Making Memories. The ribbon is May arts silk, the flower from Prima, the stick pin is Maya Road  and the stamps are from Paper trey ink. I cut out the leaves by hand from some felt I have. Simple but pretty.

Happy Easter.....

get sketchy #32

It's Friday and time for this weeks Get Sketchy sketch. This weeks sponsors are May Arts and SRM stickers and the winner of the prize pack will receive some new ribbon to add to their stash :)

Here is the sketch for this week............

And here is my take............

I used may arts ribbon, SRM stickers and my new yummy paper from basic grey's green at heart. I made the tissue paper flowers from a flower die that is available at papertrey ink. The stems are a vine leaf ribbon from may arts as is the crochet ribbon and the green ribbon that is part of the banner. I applied the sticker over the ribbon on the banner and it sticks so nicely.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

2 sketches 4 you #49

Hi all!! Thought I'd play with the 2sketches4you sketch again. For those of you who didn't know my card won the card of the week last week!! I was so shocked I just stared at the screen for at least five minutes before I ran out of the room to tell my man.... of course he really didn't seem to understand what the big deal was!! Oh brother!!

So here is this weeks sketch from Kazan...........

 And here is my take.........

I just had to use this new paper from SEI that I got last week. It is from the Claire collection and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! The picture doesn't do it justice. I used three different patterns of the paper here... one for the background, one for the mat and rectangle piece and another for the punched border. I punched out an oval and stamped it with a sentiment from papertrey ink's mixed messages set. Added the pearls next and called it good :)
I really liked this sketch I already have a few more possibilities roaming around my head!!

I'm off for the night.......

Hugs,
Lisa
