card patterns sketch #8 and another baby card

Oh my goodness!! Have you been over to the card patterns blog?? I was picked as one of the inspiring top 5 for my card last week! I was so excited, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!! Being a new blogger, I was pretty excited to say the least!! It was such an honor to be picked and the card that won by Lisette Gibbons was absolutely gorgeous!! Anyway on to my card..... I am in baby mode right now and had to update my stash so that is what I have been making the last couple of days... I absolutely LOVED this sketch!! I love circles, so this sketch was right up my alley.... Images are by papertrey ink stamped in espresso adirondak ink. The patterned paper is from papertrey ink (sorbet bitty dots) and flower patch by making memories. I paper pieced the buggy with pieces of the flower patch paper and then added a few pearls for accents. Pretty simple....
thanks for looking and have a great day!!!

Raspberry Suite color challenge #2

I absolutely loved the colors that Dawn McVey picked for her raspberry suite color challenge #2. I needed a baby card and had some scraps left over from another project so this is the end result. A nice clean card. The layout is actually one of the old mojo monday sketches. The bunny is from penny black and is one of my favorite bunnies ever. I colored him with my copics and stamped the sentiment from papertrey ink's mixed messages in water lily green palette ink and punched it out with the small oval from stampin up. The patterned papers are from the sei dill blossom collection and the white cardstock from papertrey ink.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

mojo monday 79

Happy Saturday !! Here is my first mojo monday sketch ..... I have done quite a few of these sketches but never submitted before... there is a first time for everything, right?! I really wasn't sure how this card was going to turn out but I like it. I used papertrey ink's "life" set (again!!). I really love this set and all the possibilities that it has. I made the exact same card with one of the different images and it gives it a bit of a different look. I don't usually use red.. I am not a red person.. but I really like stampin up's riding hood red. I colored the ivory taffeta ribbon with the riding hood red to try and match the paper and it was perfect!! I stamped the main image with adirondak oregano ink and stamped it three times without re-inking to give it the shadows. I then stamped the tiny flowers in the riding hood red and stamped each one three times without re-inking. The patterned paper is from the new k&company madeline collection (I got mine at emma's). Overall this sketch was really simple for me, it came together real quick... unlike the current cps sketch... well I can't seem to get it. I have been working on it all week and it is not coming together and I really wanted to try... Do you ever do that... just seem to not get it?? Oh well I still have today and you never know something could just pop into my little brain...
anyway on to enjoy my Saturday.... Have a great day and thanks for looking!!!

just a little randomness

Just a random card to post today.... been doing some major spring cleaning, especially in the stamp room.. it is amazing how much stuff I accumulate! I had a huge yard sale last year and really thinned down my stuff but this year it seemed to multiply so here I am again thinning out. I totally re-did my stamp room.. I took some pics and will post later..
On to my card... all products are from papertrey ink except for the pink paper that I got from stampin up years ago and have been hording.... that's the thing about cleaning is you find stuff that you totally forgot about. I love this paper and actually bought it for my son's wedding album but never used it.. so out it came last week and I put it on top of my "to use soon" pile. I love that flower from papertrey ink's "friends til the end" set... I stamped it in espresso adirondak dye ink and colored with my copics. The sentiment is from the pti set called "wishing you" . The leaf punch is from martha stewart(I love that punch). The pearl center is from jenny bowlin. Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

card patterns sketch #7

I finally got my card done for the card patterns sketch #7. I pretty much took the sketch literally. I used papertrey ink's "life" set and another awesome butterfly from k&company. Overall I like how this card turned out - simple & a little shabbyish (is that a word?). Sorry for the terrible photo..I could not find any good light in the house today and the weather can't decide what it wants to do.... typical early spring!!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Raspberry Suite color challenge #1

Color challenges are hard for me because they challenge me to get out of my comfort zone and try something new. Dawn McVey is starting a new color challenge and of course it is bright colors which I tend to shy away from but I thought "come on you can do it"!! I was on a raspberry fizz roll all last month and I didn't even like the color when I first saw it but bought it anyway. Papertrey ink had a challenge for their 2 year anniversary to pick one of Dawn's color combination's and make a card of your own. That was when I started to use brighter colors....so thank you Dawn for helping to get out of my norm.....
Here is my card.....

Supplies used are sentiments from papertrey ink's "life" set, friends til the end paper, hibicus burst cardstock, polka dot basics stamp set, dark chocolate ribbon, hibiscus button and the awesome butterflies are from K&Company ( I got mine at emma's ).

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!!

Here is a card I did for the papertrey ink March guest star stamper. I used the friends til the end stamp set and my cricut for the shape using the storybook cartridge. A very simple vintage type card. All supplies used are papertrey ink unless otherwise specified. I used spring moss, raspberry fizz and dark chocolate ink with vintage cream & raspberry fizz paper. The green paper is a piece from my stash. Ribbon is dark chocolate and raspberry fizz. Thanks for looking and have a great day!!
