get sketchy #40

Hi all!! Sorry for the late post............. I try to have my Get Sketchy posts done in advance but a couple of personal things got in the way. So with out further adieu..... here is this weeks sketch.............................

And here is my take.....................................

Our challenge this week was to make a father's day card. I don't make very many masculine cards so I tend to keep them simple when I do. I used papertrey ink's Through the Trees set for the tree and birds and the sentiment is from the Masculine Motifs set. The wood grained patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket.

And I am off................... thanks so  much for looking and have a great day!!

card patterns #65

Hi all! Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going okay. Where I live we have had nothing but rain and gloomy weather for the last three weeks and I am getting tired of it!! I'm hoping it turns nice and sunny by the weekend. So on to business......... here is the sketch over at Card Patterns this week...................

And here is my take.................................................

This was such a fun sketch to play with and I had so many possibilities running in my head. I decided to use my new take three: summer set from papertrey ink and paired it with the leaf image from take three: spring. The sentiment is from star prints. I used a scalloped square die to cut out a bunch of scalloped squares and stamped my images on them. Then I ran them thru with my new linen impression plate for texture. Have I told you how much I love that linen plate?? Oh...  I did? Sorry but I love it that much!! I can't believe how much it changes the look of the paper....... I used a scrap of patterned paper from my minds eye along with papertrey ink ribbon & buttons. I am definitely going to use this sketch again in the future. FUN!

okay kids I'm off for now......... As always thanks for looking and have a great day!!

wee memories challenge #7

I received my Papertrey ink release order on Saturday and I HAD to use the new Up, Up and Away set & dies! So I made a card that night and when I was checking all of my blogs I noticed Jenny had posted the new Wee memories challenge....... and guess what?? This weeks challenge is called "The sky is the limit".... you know clouds, kites, balloons or anything else that flies in the skies!! I was soooo excited because I actually had a card done and ready to go! yippee!!!! So here is my card.....................................

This set is soooo yummy I could use it for a month and not get tired of it. And those clouds dies????  LOVE them!!!! I also used my new linen impression plate and let me tell you I think everything is going to be texturized from now on :) Just adds a bit of pizazz without being overbearing.

I'm off and as always... thanks for looking and have a great day!!

Hi all!! Happy Friday!!! And you know what Friday brings....... Get Sketchy!!!
Our sponsor this week is The Robins Nest and the winner will receive an awesome prize from The Robins Nest!!! On to the sketch...........................................

And here is my take............................

I chose to keep it simple and just work with a dino rub-on from The Robins Nest. I used the "dude you rock" sentiment from the signature greetings set from papertrey ink. The wood grain stamp is from Wplus9 Design Studio's Wood grain Silhouettes. I used my rick rac die from papertrey ink for the felt. Love that die!!

Have a happy Friday and go on over to Get Sketchy to give this weeks sketch a try!!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

wee memories challenge #6

Hi all! Hope everyone is having a great week. I have been busy doing some spring cleaning so I haven't had much time for stamping. I had a few minutes a couple of days ago and made this card for the wee memories challenge #6. Here is the inspiration..........................

Pink, pink and more pink!!!! Love it!!!! So here is what I came up with...............................

I had to ink up my enjoy the ride set from papertrey ink. I stamped it in sweet blush and then colored the bumper with some gray copics and the head lights with yellow. If I had to do it over I would definitely not color the head lights yellow but leave them or go with a bit of gray. They just really stick out to me but hey not every card can be perfection! Right??? I also used my rick rac die with some pink felt I bought on etsy. Love those dies!!

Have a great day and thanks for looking!!

get sketchy #38

Happy Friday all!! Well you know the drill..... it's Get Sketchy time!!! Here's the sketch...............

We got to work with these awesome chalk board stickers from Deco bugs. You are supposed to be able to write on them with chalk like a real chalkboard. Well wouldn't you know it I didn't have any chalk in my house. So what is a girl to do.......umm.... fake it!! I stamped my image with Papertrey ink's vintage cream ink right onto the sticker and wouldn't you know it, it looks like chalk!! I was afraid to heat stamp the sticker so I just let it set for a few hours before assembling it to my card. I used my "Round & Round" set again and for the sentiment I used the Thank You from "Say it with Style" and the leaf stamp is from "Turning a New Leaf". I used some October Afternoon paper for the background and a piece of Websters Pages for the panel. I tied it all together with some of that lucious ruffle ribbon found here

Hope you come and give the sketch a try!!!

Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge

I was browsing a few blogs the other day.... which doesn't happen very often.... and on my friend Amy's blog she had the cutest card on there with the chair-ish set from Papertrey ink I used in my last post and it was for the Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge. I don't ever remember hearing about this challenge (I am a little slow sometimes :)... so I thought I would play this week. The challenge is to create a clean & simple card (CAS). So I whipped up this baby in no time..................

Talk about a quick card!!!!! I had to use my Papertrey ink anniversary set called "Round & Round" that I received when I got my release order a few weeks ago. I adore this set and it finally saw ink last night. I inked the frame image in hibicus, the round image in spring moss, the sentiment in dark chocolate and the smaller butterfly in raspberry fizz. I cut out the smaller butterfly and adhered it on top of the round and Viola!! card done!!

I'm off to see what the ole mojo holds for today!!!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!!

card patterns #63

Hi all! I am starting to feel better from this nasty cold I have had for the last week. I hardly ever get sick and this one was a doozy! So last night I made my self go into the stamp room and get some serious business done..... I actually made three cards in about an hour or so. First up is this weeks card patterns sketch...............

I decided to flip the sketch to a more horizontal position and here is what I came up with.........................

I have been dying to use my new stamps that I ordered from the last Papertrey ink release but one thing or another kept gettin' in the way. So last night I inked up Chair-ish. I LOVE this set and it was that lamp and doggie that sold me on it!! I have also been in an teal-ish/ blue mood lately.... I think it has something to do with recently changing our bedroom to these colors! I used patterned paper from october afternoon and papertrey ink. I also had to use my new mat-stack die #1 and some of that wrinkly ribbon. The sentiment is actually from the first set On my Couch. I love how all the sets co-ordinate.

I'm off for now..............

Creative charms contest

I just wanted to pop and and thank everyone who voted for me in the Creative Charms contest that we had a a couple of weeks ago on the Get Sketchy blog to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day. I won!!!! I am so excited and just wanted to thank you all!!
Here is another card I did for the contest using a felt flower from creative charms that didn't get posted.........

I used patterned paper from My Minds Eye on all of my cards with the creative charms embellishments. This one is more of a simple graphic type of card.

Once again, Thank You so very much and have a blessed day!!

get sketchy #37

It's Friday and time for another Get Sketchy Sketch. Our sponsor this week is Sunshine Digital stamps and we were given a couple of images to work with. First this weeks sketch....................................

And here is my take...................................................

We were given a couple of different car images to play with. The images were either already colored or a black & white image that you could color.  I chose to color my own to make it match my paper better. I used the new dotty biscotti paper from Papertrey ink and I have to tell you it is way better in person. I love it!!!! The sentiment is from the new masculine motifs from pti. I cut out the road by hand and used a white gel pen to draw the lines.

Sorry I've been so sporatic lately...... life has just been CRAZY!!!!
